World Class Swimmer Hector Ruvalcaba Cruz obtains a P-1 Visa

We are glad to report yet another successful P-1 petition. We effectively petitioned for a three-year approval for international athlete and world class swimmer Hector Ruvalcaba Cruz’s P-1 status. Hector is an internationally renowned swimmer currently representing Mexico.

Managing Member of the firm, Sherrod Seward successfully presented the petition proving eligibility for the P-1 visa as an internationally known swimmer to USCIS. Hector Cruz is a great example of how international student athletes can successfully transition to a sports based visa after finishing their careers with the NCAA.

The World Class Swimming P-1A Athlete:

Hector is a world-class swimming athlete that has gained enormous regional and international respect in national and international championships.

In the petition, we presented Hector as the world-class athlete he is by highlighting his participation in international swimming competitions and NCAA Competition.

To add weight to our case, we also revealed that the beneficiary’s skill level and the rank was far beyond that of most American swimmers. Therefore, he would have to participate in international athletic exhibitions and competitions competing with other international athletes of his class and skill level.

We informed the USCIS that highly ranked American swimmers require other highly rated athletes to compete against. Competing against internationally renowned athletes would allow them to move up in global rankings.

Mexican National Team participation of Mr. Cruz

1. Junior National Team member during the years 2014 and 2015.

2. Senior National Team member for three years in a row including 2017, 2018 and 2019.

We included this evidence, along with media articles from around the world (multiple nations) and official results to highlight the significance of his contribution to the Mexican National Swimming Team.
