Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belter Mateusz Rebecki granted P-1A visa

Sherrod Sports Visas continues to help internationally recognized athletes in obtaining their P-1A visa. Just recently, it represented the world class martial artist Mateusz Rebecki in his I-129 Petition for P-1 Classification. 

Who is eligible for the P-1A visa?

The following are eligible for the P-1A visa:

  1. Internationally Recognized Individual Athletes;

  2. Internationally Recognized Athletic Teams;

  3. Professional Athletes;

  4. Amateur Athletes or Coaches; and

  5. Theatrical Ice Skaters

For internationally recognized individual athletes, like Mr. Mateusz Rębecki, you must be coming to the United States to participate in a specific athletic competition in a sport in which you are internationally recognized. You are internationally recognized if you have a high level of achievement in a sport, demonstrated by a degree of skill and recognition substantially above that ordinarily encountered. Your achievement must be renowned, leading, or well-known in more than one country. The competition(s) you wish to participate in must have a distinguished reputation and be at an internationally recognized level of performance such that it requires the participation of an internationally recognized athlete.

In Mr. In Rebecki's petition, ample evidence was shown that he is an internationally recognized athlete such as his impressive international and regional rankings in Tapology. He is currently ranked 117th Best MMA Lightweight Fighter.

Mr. Mateusz Rębecki, a Polish national, is a world-class martial artist competing professionally since 2014. He specialises in a martial arts form known as Jiu Jitsu. He is an expert fighter in the  field with several years of experience. He has won a series of awards and titles which display his superior skills and raw talent in this competitive field which requires rigorous training to attain optimum fitness levels. He is currently signed with the club Berserkers Team Szczecin and he is undefeated in the First Exclusive Night which is the largest federation organizing MMA in Europe, and is one of the organization's biggest stars, boasting a series of nine consecutive wins in a row. He is the Champion of his weight category on the FEN.

A Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mr. Rębecki has secured several international and national awards including but not limited to securing a bronze medal in the European Championships in both 2016 and 2017, securing the 5th place at the World Championship Ne-Waza, silver medal in the Paris Open Senior Ne-Waza, silver medal in the German Open Senior Jiu-Jitsu Ne-Waza, one gold in 2017 and two bronze medals in both 2015 and 2016 in the Polish BJJ Adult Brown Championship, bronze medal in the Polish Jiu-Jitsu Senior Ne-Waza Championship (Duo) 2017, gold medal in the Polish BJJ Adult Black Championship 2019, and two gold medals at the Polish ADCC Championships.
