United States Immigration and Citizenship Services is on a mission to make it impossible for combat sports athletes to obtain visas unless they are signed to a major promotion.

We have sued them three times in Federal Court and forced cases to be reopened that were previously denied. They have also retaliated against the industry to attempt further to restrict athletes' ability to obtain multiple-year P-1 visa approvals.

We require the assistance of you and your network to overcome some challenges related to P-1 Visa Petitioner for fighters.

This can be accomplished by having as many persons as possible in the combat sports industry participate in executing this combat sports industry support letter.

Here is what they are asking for in recent petition responses:

  • The USCIS officers demand to include names of opponents, dates  & locations of fight locations for multiple years in the petitions

  • The USCIS officers demand to provide event permits from athletic commissions for multiple years

  • The USCIS representatives are calling venues to confirm dates are set for multiple years

  • The USCIS officers demand to include the concrete amounts or the detailed calculation of the athlete’s remuneration in the contract with the employer and file such a contract together with the petition.

  • The USCIS officers demand to file the bout agreements or confirmation of bouts from the promoters for the whole period of requested visa validity with the petition. Such confirmation should come from the major promoters to prove the level of the competition.

  • The USCIS officers demand confirmation from the promoters that they agree with the Petition structure for the specific athlete.

USCIS will not approve combat sports visa petitions that do not contain events of major promotions. P-1 visa regulations do not have a requirement for agent-directed petitioners (which we do for unsigned fighters) to have contracts with third parties. Thus we can to obtain P-1 visas based on combat sports industry standards that major promotions are always interested in decently ranked fighters that have work visas.

Underhanded tactics of USCIS to intimidate supporters of the first round of letters

A round of letters was sent over the last few months to explain the general nature of the combat sports industry. These letters were included with P-1 petitions to show as general education for USCIS Adjudicating Officers.

Instead, USCIS individually contacted signers of the letter to ask about specific athletes and organizations.

The proof is here: www.oaklg.com/dhsnotice

Of course, this can be very shocking to an unsuspecting person, and just a handful of persons declined to confirm they authorized the letter. There were dozens of people that did confirm the letter.

USCIS has used the two declinations to impact the entire combat sports industry and has acknowledged the confirmed letters. For this purpose, we need as many confirmed versions of the updated letter as possible to combat this abuse of process and get fighters P-1 visas.

Please help the combat sports industry by executing this letter and identifying confirmation.
