MANUEL PADILLA - STAR ATHLETE APPLIES FOR EB-1A Green Card Application

We are thrilled to share another victory for our American Football Practice. We successfully obtained an EB-1A visa for Mr. Manuel Padilla, a former NFL Pathway Player with the Denver Broncos. 

EB-1A is a visa category for people with extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts business or  athletics. People applying for this particular visa need not have a job offer, However should  provide evidence that they are coming to the United States to work under this area of expertise. With that, the candidate must also provide unquestionable recognition in their field of work  provided with extensive documentation to prove its authenticity.  We were able to use information from both his playing career and activities outside of competition to obtain the EB-1A visa.

THE NFL LINEBACKER RECEIVES EB-1A VISA 

A linebacker is a playing position in gridiron football. They are the defense team that line  from three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and defensive linemen. Linebackers are versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play Roles similar to either defensive lineman or defensive back. A linebacker plays their position  depending on the defensive alignment, the philosophy of the coaching staff, and the particular  play of the offense. 

Manuel Pontivianne Padilla, also known as Manuel Padilla, was born on August 12, 1983, in  Tampico, Mexico. Standing 6 ft 3 and 245 lb., He has demonstrated exceptional talent and skills  in the industry of football. This international athlete and award-winning coach is recognized as a professional NFL player due to his role as a defensive linebacker and over a decade of experience  in the business. 

Mr. Padilla got into the NFL pathway program which was designed by the National Football  League to increase the number of non-American and non-Canadian players in the NFL. The  program chooses sixty – five of the most talented players in the world out of 5,000 applicants to  participate in the international NFL training camps in London, Seville, and Barcelona. Mr. Padilla was one of the ten chosen as finalists for the said training camp.

ELIGIBILITY FACTORS OF EB-1A IN RELATION TO AMERICAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS 

Responsibilities of a linebacker: 

Communicating to defenders 

- These players are tasked to read offensive formations to best communicate with teammates on what play they think is coming. 

Reacting to plays 

- A “blitz” is a term used when a quarterback is being tackled behind the line of scrimmage. If  a blitz is called, the linebacker will rush the quarterback to pressure or sack them.  - If a coverage play is called to defend against the pass, the linebacker will stay back in  coverage to help defend the pass. If a coverage play is called, but the offense runs the  ball, they must be quick to act to stop the ball carrier from gaining too many yards. 

Stopping runs 

- If the defensive linemen are forced into creating an opening by the offense line  potentially allowing a running back to slip through the defense and make a play, the  linebacker can run forward to close the gap and prevent the ball runner from advancing. 

Defending passes 

- Most commonly, linebackers will cover tight ends when playing man to man coverage.  However, they are also occasionally lined up against speedy slot receivers, forcing them  to put their athleticism on display. 

Sacking the quarterback 

- In some cases, if the defensive linemen effectively create an opening in the offense line,  while the quarterback is still in the pocket, a linebacker can run forward, past the offense  and sack the quarterback. 

For an athlete to perform these tasks, one must have unrivaled intelligence, endurance, agility, and strength. One must also know the importance of teamwork and camaraderie. They should  also impeccable judgment on timing for each  play that they will perform to  benefit the team. 

Mr. Padilla’s EB-1A petition was supported by evidence that met 6 out of 10 criteria that qualifies  him for EB1A Green Card Application to be able to continue to serve the country and demonstrate  immense talent as a professional football player and a coach to the National Football league.

- Rolando Cantu is a renowned former professional football player, World Bowl XII  Champion (Berlin Thunder), and a former member of the Mexican national team.  broadcaster for the Super Bowls for the NFL Spanish Radio Network on Fox News and  ESPN. He is also a spokesperson for Gatorade and currently serves as the Manager for  the Arizona Cardinals and ambassador for the NFL in Mexico. As a player, he played with  the NFL Europe until he was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals. He is the only player that  stayed with the NFL, for more than one year through their Practice Development Squad  program. He has also won two national championships in the ONEVA Mexico College  system with ITSEM in Monterey. In addition to his athletic achievements, he has been  instrumental and essential in promoting American football in the Latino community in  Baja, California, and Sonora by conducting free training camps for kids who have 

aspirations for the NFL conducting more than twenty-two camps throughout Mexico with  more than 200 players including NFL Alumni. Mr. Cantu confirms Mr. Padilla’s essential  role in his training camps as a coach. 

- Carlos Rosado is one of the first players from Mexico to play American college football in  my country, participate in an NFL, training camp and play in the NFL, Europe. He also  worked for Fox Sports Latin America as a color analyst for Mexico's professional football  league games for the past two years and has been a football analyst and broadcaster for  college football games in Mexico for the national channel SPR since 2014. In addition, he  also provides football analysis on Facebook Live for Terrier Cuarto. He is an active  lecturer/speaker conducting seminars on developing former NFL. players’ public speaking  skills to prepare them for public speaking engagements. In addition to broadcasting, he  has served as a scout for American football talent in Mexico for the past decade and a  half and spoken at camps, universities, conferences, and events around the country to  promote the game of football and played in the NFL Europe for seven seasons. Earlier in  his career, Mr. Rosado was drafted by the Barcelona Dragons in 1998 and was the second  Mexican-born player to play in the league. As a wide receiver for the Dragons, Rosado  appeared in two World Bowls (1999 and 2001), Following a trade; he went on to play two  seasons for the Amsterdam Admirals (2003-04). In 2003, Rosado was named National  Offensive Player after leading the league in yards and receptions. Also, in 2003, he was  invited to the New York Jets training camp and played with the team in the preseason.  Previously. | played college football at Universidad de fa Americas Puebla and was a  standout wide receiver on three championship teams (1994-97) while earning a degree in  business administration. Following his college career, and in the off-seasons, while  playing for the Dragons from 1999-to 2003, he served as a coach at his alma mater  (Universidad de la Americas Puebla), first as an assistant to the head coach and then as  offensive coordinator. In 2010, 1 was promoted to Sports Director in charge of all sports  at the university. Upon retiring from football, he became a scout in Mexico for the NFL  and NFL Europe from 2005 to 09. During this time, 15 Mexican players played in the NFL.  Europe and were part of the NFL’s international program. He also worked as a guest wide  receivers’ coach for the CFL."s British Columbia Lions and is certified as a coach in speed  and agility by Athletes Acceleration. Since 2005, he has worked with Gatorade’s NFL. The  Flag Football program created a league of seven teams, with more than 1.000  participants. Carlos is a tireless advocate for the sport and has held football camps to  develop the sport in Mexico, including coordinating a try-out for the CFL.''s Hamilton  Tiger-Cats in Mexico. Mr. Rosado confirms Mr. Padilla’s essential capacity for Monterrey  Tech, the NFL. Pathway Program, Vincent Memorial High School, Calexico High School,  and the Universidad del Valle de México as a coach. 

- Roberto Rodriguez De La Torre is a defensive line coach (internship} for the Arizona State  University Sun Devils football team of the Pac-12 Conference in the NCAA Division I  Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Prior to his current role. he was the head coach and  defensive coordinator for Monterrey Tech. assistant head coach and defensive  coordinator for Saltillo Dino (LFA), defensive coordinator for the Mexican National Team 

(Bronze medal winner of the 2015 World Cup), defense advisor for the UACH's Aguilas,  defensive coordinator for Monterrey Steel Arena Football (NAL), defensive advisor for  Monterrey Fundidores, athletic director of Avipons Football Club (MFL from 2013 to  

present), coach for the Aguilas Football Club. Also, the teams he has coached have won  numerous championships including 14-time national champions with ITESM’s Borregos  Salvajes College Team, winning 14 national championships with ITESM’s Borregos Salvajes High School Team, one national championship with Saltillo’s Dinos Pro ‘Team,  placing 3 places in the World Cup, 3" place in NAL with Monterrey Steel, and have been  honored in the ITESM (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) Hall  of Fame in 2015, As a player, he won Most Valuable Player in 1976 in the National  Student Organization of American Football (ONEFA). As a coach, he won four awards as  Defensive Coach of the League, was the coach of the only team in Mexico that won  nineteen (19) national championships in college football and fourteen (14) national  championships in high school football, He was a training camp coach for several NFL  teams in Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans, and Chicago. He was the only coach in  Mexico to train three players that reached the NFL. Mr. Padilla is one of those along with  Antonio Rodriguez and Eduardo Castaneda, Mr. De La Torre confirms Mr. Padilla’s  essential and critical capacity with Monterrey Tech, as Head Coach for Vincent Memorial  High School, as Coach / Defensive Coordinator for Universidad del Valle De Mexico,  among others.
