P-1 and O-1 Petition Contract Drafter

Job description

We are looking for a self-starting writing professional to do contract work with our law firm, Oakhurst Legal Group. To be clear, we are looking for great writers and paralegals.

This position can lead to full-time employment if it works well. The ideal candidate would have previous experience with business and/or technical writing. Previous experience with United States immigration casework is a requirement, preferable with drafting O-1 visa petitions

We are looking for persons that write well and can follow directions independatly. The job involves light research only and writing visa petitions from concise templates.

Oakhurst Legal Group is a Charlotte based law firm that specializes in criminal defense law and problem-solving for some of the world’s best athletes & entertainers. Our sports clients range from professional football players to some of the best boxers in the world. Our community based practice focuses on criminal and civil rights law for high profile cases.

We are looking for a legal service professional to perform drafting of P-1 and O-1 cases in sports related petitions. We have a proven support system of research, client intake, and support software to make the tasks fairly quick and simple.

Contract Description

The contract writing professional will be supplied with research, client intake, templates, and access to petition preparation software to prepare P-1 and O-1 petitions for SPORTS only. The templates and research make the projects pretty simple and quick to do.

Once familiar with writing the petitions, they should take between 2-4 hours to complete.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Timely responses to P-1 and O-1 requests

  • Communication with research specialist and office manager

  • Ability to work independently

  • Superior skills with web and cloud based software

  • Savvy problem solving skills

  • Maintenance of case management tracking

  • Adherence to quality control standards of the staff
